Marshmallow Popcorn Balls

3/4 cup white Karo syrup
4 T margarine
2 T water
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 lb. powdered sugar (3 3/4 C)
1/4 t food coloring (optional)
6 quarts popped corn

In electric skillet at low heat, about 250 degrees, blend corn syrup, butter and water. Stir until well blended. Add marshmellows until completely melted. Add powdered sugar and food coloring. Stir until all is dissolved and bubbling all over. Pour slowly over the popcorn and lift from the botton of the pan with a wooden spoon to stir and mix candy into the popcorn. Form into balls.

This was my mother's, but my grown children insist upon it every year. It's not Christmas without these popcorn balls!
